Another small social epiphany.

And mild snarking about cultural inconsistency.

If a middle-class American woman doesn't wear jewelry, she is viewed as having less self-care and decreased emotional security. She doesn't "care enough to present herself attractively".

If a middle-class American man wears jewelry which doesn't have clear symbolic significance, he's viewed as either emotionally insecure or possibly gay.

Cultural asymmetry, anyone? Feedback welcome, both analytical and emotional.

Assuming the email I got about my hematology and urinalysis final is correct, and includes the points for the essay, I will not have a perfect 4.0 for the semester.

Wish me luck.

My last two finals are tomorrow, at 7:45 a.m. and 12:45. I'm not sufficiently prepared for either one of them, though it is more from focus difficulties than any significant last minute skiving off.

Must see about getting my eyes checked before next semester.
