Relationship wisdom from a friend.

I intermittently decide that I'm going to give up on relationships entirely, on the theory that being in relationship makes me crazy (i.e., hyperemotional and irrational), I don't want to be crazy (because mood swings are a great big ball of no fun), and there *must* be a way to get my needs met which doesn't require such things.

<ljuser=delosd> just suggested that I consider this modification to my thought process: that *bad* relationships make me crazy.

The general concept seems to be that the hyperemotionality is not necessarily a bad thing - it means the joy and love and bonding are on speed, too. And in a relationship structure where I'm mostly happy, there's all this fast forward, shiny emotional goodness, and only occasional thunderstorms of angst and fear which, if comforted effectively, end up being of short duration.

I must think about this.
